Project Overview:
During my collaboration with the automotive-focused EXTEND Group, a remarkable opportunity emerged to work with automotive aftermarket industry leaders, one of them being Raybestos Powertrain. The mission was to breathe new life into their website and introduce an eCatalog that would empower customers to search for parts based on a range of criteria, from the year, make, and model to the all-important VIN.
About Raybestos Powertrain:
Raybestos Powertrain, with its headquarters in Crawfordsville, Indiana, stands as one of the globe’s largest creators and manufacturers of energy absorption, power transmission, wet wheel braking systems, and transmission-related friction products. Their focus extends to supplying top-tier, quality products for OEM automotive and OEM heavy-duty applications. Raybestos Powertrain operates in close collaboration with OEMs and tier 1 powertrain suppliers, crafting highly engineered wet friction and energy absorption products for the automotive and heavy-duty industries.
My Role:
My role in this project was to collaborate with my colleagues at EXTEND Group in designing both the website and the eCatalog. Together, we worked to shape their appearance, aiming to provide a fresh, user-friendly, and cutting-edge experience that perfectly aligned with the Raybestos Powertrain brand. This collaborative effort ensured that the site and eCatalog met the company’s unique needs and exceeded industry standards.
Tools and Technologies:
To bring this vision to life, I used Lucidchart to build the wireframes of the website. Additionally, I used Photoshop and Illustrator to craft graphics that enhanced the visual appeal and functionality of the site and eCatalog.
Achievements:
The website and eCatalog received high praise from the Raybestos Powertrain team, and several of the assets created during this project continue to be in use. As the years have passed and design trends have evolved, the site has undergone a redesign to stay current, but the foundation laid during this project still stands as a testament to the collaborative effort that yielded a successful and user-friendly platform. It’s a reflection of Raybestos Powertrain’s commitment to innovation and quality in the automotive aftermarket industry.
